Boston Lawyer Hailed For Invention Of 'Easy Bake Oven Of Cannabis'

Recreational Cannabis

BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) – A Boston lawyer is getting high praise for her new kitchen appliance, which makes it easier to cook with one secret ingredient.

Shanel Lindsay’s invention of the Ardent FX has been dubbed the “Easy-Bake Oven" of cannabis.

"It can be a one-step process where they just have to press one button and really have an instant edible or product at the end of that," Lindsay said.

Lindsay founded the Boston-based biotech and medical cannabis device company Ardent while she was searching for a natural way to deal with chronic pain.

"I've been able to avoid pharmaceuticals by making my own cannabis medicine at home, and I really wanted to share that with the rest of the world," she said. "I've tried everything from, you know -- alcohol infusions, to things that would just cause me to throw up at the end of the day."

She eventually landed on a process called decarboxylation -- which allowed her to activate 100 percent of the THC in cannabis and infuse it into various products and foods.

Lindsay said Ardent's countertop kitchen appliance helps streamline the cannabis cooking process for those who may be less experienced in the kitchen.

"It is as easy as a little Easy Bake," she said.

It can be used to make all the "traditional" types of edible cannabis products -- like brownies, cupcakes, or cookies -- but also wellness products, like suppositories.

"Facial toner -- that's one of my favorite things to make," she said. "I just turned 40 and I get told often that I look much younger than that."

For those interested in buying an Ardent FX Decarboxylator, you can do so on the company's website or on Amazon.
