BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — Boston Mayor Michelle Wu celebrated the start of her second term in office by skating in the park Friday with her constituents.
"So much of what we showed over the last four years is that it is possible to do big things when you keep community at the center and get the little details right," Wu explained.
The free outing served as a relief for families at the tail end of winter break. Attendees also had hot cocoa and cookies to indulge in.
"Anything Mayor Wu wants to do to help support free child care or reduce child care in the city would be great," one woman said.

Junior champ Brendan Man from the Skating Club of Boston came out onto the ice for his routine. He was joined by another figure skater eager to show her moves on the ice.
"I'm on a lot of jumps, a lot of spins, it's a lot of work to do," she said.
Mayor Wu said that she looks forward to seeing what she can do for the city this term.
"Real focus these next four years on our schools being the launching pad and the laboratory for all of our students to emerge with every skill, with every dream and every possibility."
