BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) Recent sightings of a woman hugging geese in around the Back Bay Fens in Boston this week has caused some raised eyebrows. One person even filed a 311 complaint.

“[Geese are] kind of hostile, they’re the ones that hiss, right?” said a local resident.

The geese hugging allegedly took place at the Roberto Clemente field. The 311 call claims that the woman was hugging and feeding the birds daily.

The Boston Parks and Recreation Departments warns people not to get too close to geese, as they can become aggressive.

“A mother bird was in the area I was in and she got really possessive and protective of her children and came and hit me and my mom’s heads,” the local resident added

City officials also said feeding geese is another no-no because geese can become reliant on human food.

“Most geese I meet are more belligerent than huggable,” another resident said. “There is a universe where I could hug a goose, but probably not this one.”
