BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — A peace rally outside Park Street Station on Saturday gathered dozens in solidarity with Massachusetts Peace Action's call for American diplomacy and dialogue concerning the Russia and Ukraine border situation.

"There is a diplomatic solution to this problem, and it does not involve more bombs, more troops and more guns. It's simple," said Brian Garvey of the MPA.

Named the "Peace with Russia Rally," demonstrators held up signs criticizing the U.S war budget and the North Atlantic Treaty Organization. The event was live streamed, lasting about an hour with a variety of speakers speaking on the topic.

"This is important, and you need to stand up and you need to make a demand," Garvey said.

The rally came after the U.S moved 3,000 troops to eastern Europe, thought the Pentagon has stated that those U.S service members will not fight in Ukraine.
