Boston Police Arrest Two, Recover Loaded Gun During Traffic Stop

BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) – While stopping two vehicles that were driving recklessly in winter weather conditions, Boston Police officers recovered a loaded gun and made two arrests.

Officers arrested 24-year-old Tavarge Thomas and 27-year-old Rondell Pennant around 2:15 Saturday morning at the intersection of Columbia Road and Quincy Street. Both were apprehended after driving at high speeds over icy roads, failing to stop at multiple red lights and passing a snowplow.

Pennant was arrested for an active felony warrant out for his arrest from Brockton Court and Thomas was arrested for carrying a loaded gun. The gun was a Glock 43 with one round in the chamber and six rounds in the magazine.

Thomas is to be charged with carrying a loaded firearm without a license, possession of a firearm without an FID card and unlawful possession of ammunition. Both men will be arraigned in Roxbury District Court.
