BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — Boston Police officers were in numbers in the area of Carter Playground Friday night, after a patrol unit stationed at a football game observed a large group of teenagers fighting on a nearby tennis court.
According to the BPD, multiple juveniles were watching the fight when officers arrived to break it up. A 16-year-old boy was on the ground, and refused to cooperate with officers, running from police on foot. The fleeing teenager blended in with the rest of the crowd, which officers say was becoming "unruly and "hostile" towards the authorities.

Officers requested backup, eventually asking for all available units from the city to respond to help with crowd control.
Multiple juveniles were arrested, along with one adult charged:
- A 16-year-old juvenile male charged with Affray.
- A 17-year-old juvenile male charge with Disorderly Conduct.
- A 17-year-old juvenile male charge with Disorderly Conduct.
- A 15-year-old juvenile female charged with Disorderly Conduct and Resisting Arrest.
- A 15-year-old juvenile female charged with Disorderly Conduct and Resisting Arrest.
- 37-year-old Chiquela Howard of Weymouth charged with Disorderly Conduct, Assault and Battery, Assault and Battery on a Police Officer, and Resisting Arrest.
