Boston Police Arrest Suspect Accused Of Violently Assaulting Woman

BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — Boston Police have arrested a man who allegedly held onto a woman against her will in the South End.

Michael Powers, 34, was arrested shortly before 11:30 a.m. He is expected to appear in court on assault charges.

The attack happened Sunday just before 5 p.m. on Harrison Avenue, near the SoWa Open Market.

Police said Powers had violently restrained the woman. She was able to fight back and free herself before witnesses attempted to catch the suspect.

The man got away after jumping a fence and heading toward the Pine Street Inn.
