BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — Boston police are searching for a man in connection with an act of vandalism involving traffic control boxes downtown.

Police said the incident happened between 10:00 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. Thursday at the intersections of Washington and Kneeland streets, and Washington and Lagrange streets.

According to police, the suspect reportedly accessed the Boston Transportation Department traffic control boxes at the intersections, cut the electrical wires, and disabled the traffic lights.

The suspect is described as light-skinned with a grey beard, wearing a black hat, black jacket, yellow hooded sweatshirt, black pants, and brown construction boots. They were also seen walking with an imbalanced gate or limp, and carrying a long pole, police said.
