Boston Police Shoot Two Dogs After They Attack Officer

BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — Boston police shot two dogs after they reportedly attacked an officer Wednesday afternoon, officials said.

Boston police said officers were arresting a suspect with known to have multiple arrest warrants at 28 Michigan Ave. in Dorchester. After placing the suspect in custody, one of the officers was attacked by two dogs inside the house and bitten.

The officer's partner then fired his weapon, striking both dogs, police said.

The officer who was bit was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries, the Boston Police Department said. The officer who shot the dog was also sent to the hospital, per standard department procedure when a firearm is discharged.

Police said one of the dogs is deceased and the other is injured.

An investigation is ongoing.
