Boston Public Garden Ducklings Get Coronavirus Masks

BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — Boston's 'Make Way For Ducklings' statues are embracing social distancing guidelines as someone added masks to the the duck's St Patrick's Day costumes.

The mother duck is wearing a cloth face mask, while her baby ducklings are wearing green hats and bow ties.

The 'Make Way For Ducklings' statue, located in Boston's Public Garden, was inspired by a 1941 children’s book of the same name.

Boston's ducks have donned culturally relevant costumes for the NHL playoffs, Halloween, and the issues at border detention centers.

On Sunday, the Department of Public health announced a total of 646 COVID-19 cases in Massachusetts. So far there have been five deaths in the state.
