BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — A new study ranks dog-loving cities, and it may be no surprise Boston ranks high on that list.

With more than 690,000 dog-related posts on Instagram per 10,000 people, Boston ranks third as the nation's most dog-loving city.

Buffalo led the pack at number one, followed by Seattle.

Boston has a number of great locations for dog owners to get some play and exercise with their pets.

The Esplanade and the Public Garden / Boston Common are top spots, according to some of the dog owners out for a walk Tuesday morning.

"Probably the Public Garden... especially in the spring it's hard to beat," said one dog-walker.

"The Public Garden would probably be number one, the Esplanade number two,” another said.

On the Boston Common, this dog owner wasn't shy about describing his four-legged partner.

"Look at her! She's a beautiful white Samoyed. She looks like a white polar bear!"
