BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — Boston school nurses staged a sit-in protest at City Hall Plaza on Wednesday, saying more information and co-ordination is needed before schools can reopen during a global pandemic.
Kelly Binzzyk, an elementary school nurse in Boston, told WBZ NewsRadio that she and her fellow nurses have not been included in the discussions around reopening schools in Boston.
"Frankly, it's insulting," said Binzzyk. "We don't have the processes in place to make sure that we can keep kids safe that show up at our offices that aren't feeling well. We need to be able to take care of them in the appropriate place."
The district's bus drivers' union and the teachers' union were also in attendance at the lunchtime sit-in protest outside Boston City Hall.
