BOSTON (State House News Service) — For one day at least, the city of Boston did not report any new COVID-19 deaths.
"A day with no deaths to report is certainly a good day," Mayor Martin Walsh said at his daily presser. "But we still have work to do. If we want to see that every day, we need to continue to do that."
Walsh said the total death toll from COVID-19 in Boston on Tuesday was 533, the same number as Monday. Statewide, the Department of Public Health reported 174 new deaths on Wednesday raising the statewide total to 5,315.
The mayor reported 62 new coronavirus cases in the city, raising the total to 11,168. He said 688 people have been treated at Boston Hope, the field hospital set up at the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center, including 158 people who are currently receiving care there.
