BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — If you're strolling around Snowport in the Boston Seaport, you might get a whiff of a pungent, foul odor. But many say it leads to a tasty sandwich.
The viral raclette sandwich, sold at the Baked Cheese Haus stand, has been described on social media as smelling like rotting sewage or dead rats. But many say, despite its smell, the sandwich is delicious.
"It does smell, but I would rate it a 10 out of 10," one person said. "But it stinks."

"I try not to smell it when I eat it, but it smells like cheese," another person said. "Like, get over it. If you don't want to smell like cheese, like, don't get it, but it's literally the best thing ever."
The $15 sandwich is made of raclette cheese, which is washed with bacteria to ripen it on the exterior, and yes, it's safe to eat. In fact, staff say the smellier is the tastier.
The practice of slathering the cheese onto the bread used for this sandwich originated from the Swiss-France border.
"Heaven. If cheese lived in heaven, it tastes like that," one person said.
