BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — As Boston temperatures hit massive highs, some Bostonians have made the most of it by heading to the beach.

Constitution Beach in East Boston, located along the harbor and looking out towards Logan Airport, is a local favorite for people like Alice Waters.

“Well, I've been coming to this beach for over 50 years, so I don't have anything bad to say about it, it's a beautiful beach,” she said. "If you come here on Saturday and Sunday you can't even find a parking space.”

She said that she makes her way here every sunny day to enjoy the water and beach, as it's only a matter of time before the ideal weather becomes less frequent.

“The fall is coming in and you’re not going to be able to," Waters said. "I want to make sure before the end of the year I get all I can.”

Charlene and Steve from Somerville were also taking advantage of the nice weather, relaxing under a large tree.

“It's small, it's quiet, it's clean, and it's peaceful,” Charlene said.

Steve explained further that despite its smaller size, it has everything a beach needs.

“They have bathrooms, they have a food area, and shade," he said. "That's the main thing, they have trees with shade so if you don't want to sit in the sun all day you have some shade.”

As the summer nears it's end, many are trying to plan out when the best days are to head to the beach. According to AccuWeather, Wednesday will consist of temperatures up to 90, although later in the day there is a chance of thunderstorms. Thursday looks similar with highs up to 86 and potential thunderstorms once again. Friday looks rain free with temperatures in the high 70s, low 80s.
