BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — Reaction is pouring in on President Donald Trump’s address to a joint session of Congress on Tuesday night.

President Trump touched on a number of issues, including tariffs, DEI policies and cuts to the federal government. He also used the platform to slam former President Joe Biden, blaming the former administration for the economy, the price of eggs and immigration, as well as most other issues.

There were several disruptions and walkouts, including one by Rep. Ayanna Pressley, who released a statement shortly after walking out. She said she attended the joint session to honor her guest, who was recently fired from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.

“However, I could not in good conscience sit through this speech and give an audience to someone who operates with lawless disregard for Congress and the people of this nation,” said Pressley in the statement.

WBZ NewsRadio’s Jim MacKay asked Bostonians what they thought of President Trump’s address. Regardless of political affiliation, most have not been surprised by the President’s unprecedented actions.

“He’s been doing exactly what he said he was going to do,” said one man.

Tyler said he has faith that President Trump will ultimately help the economy.

“He actually understands how to actually get businesses to grow. Our economy is based on production,” said Tyler. “Let’s stop sending money externally and start worrying about actually making things better.

Sam from Beacon Hill was not pleased with Mr. Trump’s decision to hurl insults during the speech, including referring to Senator Elizabeth Warren as “Pocahontas.

“I just think there should be decorum. It’s not dignified,” said Sam.
