BOURNE, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — Bourne Police shared shocking video on their Facebook page Wednesday of a crash that occurred the previous day on the Sagamore Bridge.
The crash happened shortly after 8 p.m. and left the bridge closed in both directions.
Massachusetts State Police said the Toyota Coupe seen crossing the center line above was driven by Gregory May, 35, of Duxbury,
They said May struck a Volkswagen Passat driven by an off-duty State Police trooper. That trooper's wife, a passenger in the Passat, was taken to Beth Israel Hospital in Plymouth with non-life-threatening injuries and was released Wednesday.
State Police said May fled the scene by jumping in the back of a passing landscaping truck, but was arrested Wednesday morning at a relative's home in Bourne.
He's charged with causing the crash and leaving the scene.
Bourne Police said the video is a good reminder to slow down.
