LYNN, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) – A partnership between the Boys and Girls Club of Lynn and Private Jewels Fitness & Boxing is bringing back amateur boxing to the non-profit organization.
Alex Sepulveda is the boxing gym owner and used to train at the club as a kid under legendary boxing coach Tony Pavone.
“When he passed away, he kind of took his legacy with him,” Sepulveda said, “didn’t leave no one after to kind of take over the work and boxing is not easy. It takes a lot of hard work.”
Hard work that Sepulveda and the non-profit want to put in for the kids. He said they work to create a boxing future for both boys and girls alike.
“You’re going to see males and females fighting,” Sepulveda said. “Let’s not let our females [get] behind.”
The boxing tournament Saturday, September 18 at 2:00 pm at the Boys and Girls Club of Lynn.
