BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — The Boston Public Health Commission has encouraged all city residents to get their flu and COVID-19 vaccines before peak virus season begins.
The City of Boston and Boston Centers for Youth and Families will host several free flu and COVID-19 vaccine clinics across the city in the coming weeks.
“Vaccination remains the most effective way to prevent serious illness, hospitalization, and death from COVID-19 and the flu,” said Dr. Bisola Ojikutu, Commissioner of Public Health for the City of Boston. “During the fall and winter months, we strongly recommend all Boston residents receive updated vaccines and stay home if they have symptoms of respiratory of viral illness,” Ojikutu added.
The confirmed dates and locations of free flu and vaccine clinics are as follows.
- Monday, October 21, from 9am to 1pm at City Hall Room 801.
- Thursday, October 24, from 1pm-5pm at City Hall Room 115.
- Tuesday, October 29, from 3pm-7pm at the BCYF Mattahunt Community Center.
- Saturday, November 2, from 12pm-4pm at the BCYF Mattahunt Community Center.
- Monday, November 4 from 4pm-8pm at the BCYF Paris Street Community Center.
- Thursday, November 7, from 10am-2pm at the BCYF Curley Community Center.
More clinic dates will be added soon. Appointments are not necessary; however, residents should bring a health insurance card if they have one.
