BOSTON, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — When Matt Harrington, a Jaguars fan, took issue with Tom Brady's 96 rating in the next release of the popular NFL video game Madden, the Jaguars fan caught the attention of the New England quarterback himself.
"Tom Brady can’t run 2 yards how the hell is he a 96?," Harrington tweeted to news of the ratings.
After a few back-and-forth exchanges defending his position, Harrington made the claim that caught the attention of the six-time Super Bowl champion.
"I 100% could run faster and further than Tom," he wrote. "So could 50% of high schoolers, 80% of college players, and 99% of pros."
"I'm so much faster than you Matt," Brady finally shot back to a flurry of support from New England fans.
"Well that escalated quickly," Matt responded.
New England's regular season kicks off September 8th against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
