MASSACHUSETTS (WBZ NewsRadio) — Massachusetts has seen a lot of rain this summer, and all the wet weather is bad news for mosquito-haters.

Nothing ruins a good summer night like the sound of a mosquito flying into your ear. As if the constant buzzing isn't enough, the bug bites that come along with the tiny pests are even worse.

Experts say, if mosquitos seem worse than usual this year, it's because they are. Lee Hunaker is known as the "Mosquito Hitman" and owner of Master Mosquito Control.

"When you have a lot of water and a lot of humidity, that's like an incubator for mosquitoes," said Hunaker.

And everyone in the pest control business agrees that mosquitoes are bad right now, including Ty Costin from Ecomosquito.

"Just in terms of call volume we've had the past few weeks has definitely spiked," said Costin.

So, don't forget to stock up on bug spray before summer is over.
