DEDHAM, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — A judge in Norfolk Superior Court sentenced Brian Walshe on Thursday to life in prison without the possibility of parole. He was found guilty on Monday of first degree murder in the death of his wife, Ana Walshe nearly three years ago.

The prosecution said he killed Ana after he found out she was having an affair. Before the trial began, Walshe pleaded guilty to dismembering her body and misleading police.

"Your acts in dismembering your wife's body and disposing of her remains in multiple area dumpsters can only be described as barbaric and incomprehensible," Judge Diane Freniere said at Walshe's sentencing hearing.

For a count of witness intimidation, Walshe was sentenced to no less than 19 years and no more than 20 years in prison to run consecutively with his life sentence. For a count of improper disposal of a body, he was sentenced to no less than two years and 364 days and no more than three years to also run consecutively with his life sentence.
