NEEDHAM, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — The employees at Briarwood Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in Needham are doing what they can to bring joy and happiness to the nation's troops.
Soldiers' Angels Treats for Troops, a Halloween Candy collection program, partners with organizations and businesses like Briarwood to collect treats to send to soldiers. Administrator Nick Baker from the center prepared at least 33 boxes for the Texas based non-profit.
"Right now we're boxing up, we're going to an army base in Missouri and then we're going to the VA in Palm Springs, Florida," Baker said.

Baker couldn't help but shed a tear as he spoke about the men and women of our country who serve in uniform.
"It means everything. I mean, that's what it's all about. These guys are sacrificing their holidays," an emotional Baker stated. "And they're sacrificing their family, their time, their holidays, and it's important."
The rehab and healthcare center collaborates with local schools and kids to provide each care package with an extra added bonus.
"They all made cards to kind of cheer up the people again, some don't have family, some are far away. So if this can bring some joy to them, it's all that matters."
