Brighton-Based Doctor Charged In Wife's Murder

DOVER, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — A Boston-area doctor has been arrested and charged with the murder of his wife, days after she went missing.

According to Norfolk District Attorney's office, 58-year-old Dr. Ingolf Tuerk has been arrested after investigators found the remains of his wife Kathleen McLean not far from their home in Dover on Saturday night. Tuerk is a urologist associated with St Elizabeth's Medical Center in Brighton.

State Police detectives, Dover Police and Dedham Police had been investigating the circumstances of McLean's disappearance after she was reportedly last seen in the couple's home on Valley Road on Thursday evening.

In a press release, Norfolk DA's office said Tuerk was taken into custody after investigators found the remains of his 45-year-old wife shortly after 11 p.m. on Saturday.

Records from Attorney General Maura Healy's office report a Dr. Tuerk of Dover was in legal trouble last year. In November, he agreed to pay $150,000 to resolve allegations that he caused his employer to falsely bill MassHealth more than $31,000 for portions of surgical procedures that never took place, and office visits that he did not attend or supervise.

Tuerk is expected to be arraigned on charges of murder at Dedham District Court on Monday, May 18th.
