BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — Current Boston Bruins forward Milan Lucic will be taking an “indefinite leave of absence.”

Although the specifics remain unclear, the Bruins said “they are aware of the incident” in a statement released on Saturday morning. Lucic will not be seeing any playing time for the foreseeable future.

“The organization takes these matters very seriously, and we will work with the Lucic family to provide any support and assistance they may need. We will have no further comment at this time,” said the Bruins in Saturday’s statement.

Lucic is on his second stint with the Bruins, helping the team win a Stanley Cup in 2011.

The Bruins host the Montreal Canadiens on Saturday night at 7:00 P.M.
