BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — Boston Bruins Captain Zdeno Chara partnered with New Balance this holiday season to distribute 750 pairs of socks to homeless men in Boston shelters.
WBZ NewsRadio's Mike Macklin caught up with the Bruins' big man at the Pine Street Inn Friday.
"This is a time when, obviously, we all enjoy giving back," he said. "I'm just playing a very small part in this, I'm just the guy who's basically carrying the boxes to these locations, but all the credit has to go to the people who are supporting this cause."
The sock giveaway comes just five days before Christmas, with temperatures in the 20s—making a pair of socks a worthy gift.
