FOXBORO, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — The BTS Army took over Foxboro this week.
Superfans of the globally renowned seven-member South Korean boy band Bangtan Boys (BTS) descended on New England.
BTS is playing its first-ever concerts in Massachusetts at Gillette Stadium on Wednesday and Thursday nights.
The K-pop supergroup is attracting its fans from all over the country.
One family from San Antonio planned to see both shows, just two of many that the family said it will experience on this tour.
For them, they said BTS is so much more than just music.
One family member said it's all about the sense of community and belonging she gets from BTS and its fans. "It kind of feels like we're just meeting up with old friends when we meet other fans. I'm a shy person, but I like being with people who like the same thing. It's pretty easy to talk with them," she said. "In a way, it just brings people together."
Meanwhile, one of the Moms going to the show, Cindy, said her daughter got her interested in the band.
But Cindy said she's not just a chaperone watching over her daughter.
Cindy said she's also a BTS superfan. "My 31st anniversary is coming up, so this is my anniversary gift from him, so I can come see my sugar," she said.
One of the members of the band, rapper and producer Min Yoon-gi, is known as Suga.
The Arirang World Tour started in April.
It supports the band's 2026 studio album of the same name, Arirang.
The world tour spans more than 88 dates in 34 cities across 23 countries through 2027.
