BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — The suitcases are packed and so are the airports.
According to the Federal Aviation Administration, Thursday will be the busiest air travel day of the Christmas holiday; 48,959 flights are forecasted to take travelers through the busy skies to their destination.
It was a busy scene at Logan Airport during the early morning rush, as Bridget of Boston told WBZ NewsRadio.
"It was so busy. It was a really, really long line," Bridget said.
Others, like Julia and Gary of Boston, said they waited until later in the day to catch a flight to Utah for the holidays.
"I’m glad we dodged a bullet from the morning rush," said Gary.
Pamela of Yarmouth also avoided the morning rush, though her plan to visit her daughter in Fort Lauderdale, Florida was not without a few hiccups.
"It was like a scene out of Home Alone," Pamela laughed. "We slept through the alarm and we’re rushing out to catch the bus. But we made it."
After Thursday, the next busiest air travel days will be Friday, Dec. 22 and Tuesday, Dec. 26.
