CAMBRIDGE, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — A Cambridge bagel shop received high marks for the first time at Bagel-Fest in New York City.
For the team at Bagelsaurus on Mass. Ave, their expectations for success were low as they were new to the competition.
When the team came home from the competition with first place awards for “Best of the Fest” and “Rising Star,” they were surprised to say the least.
“We also got silver second place in schmear of the year for our honey rosemary spread,” said Bagelsaurus Operations Manager Dakota Jensen, who called the experience “humbling.”
For locals, it’s no secret that Bagelsaurus is a must for delicious bagels, but now the shop’s notoriety is going beyond the local level.

“We got voted best of the fest overall which is voted by attendees and the professional judges they had, it’s really crazy!” Jensen added.
The team won medals at the competition and a trophy in the shape of an everything bagel.
“We don’t want to be too braggadocious, but we are proud,” Jensen said.
