CAMBRIDGE, Mass (WBZ NewsRadio) — Cambridge City Councilor Paul Toner was named Friday as one of the alleged patrons of a Boston-area brothel network.
Court records show Councilor Toner had a probable cause hearing in the case at Cambridge District Court. He was one of nearly a dozen alleged clients named in the case on Friday, out of a total of 28 accused. Twelve people were also named in the case last week.
Earlier this week, one of the ringleaders of the network, Han Lee, was sentenced to four years in prison after she pleaded guilty. Two other alleged ringleaders of the network — run out of Cambridge, Watertown, and eastern Virginia, have also pleaded guilty.
Toner is serving his second term on the Cambridge City Council after he was elected in 2021. He previously served as the president of the Cambridge Teachers Association and the Massachusetts Teachers Association.
