Cambridge Police Searching For Bathrobe Bandit Who Is Stealing Packages

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) – Cambridge police are looking to identify a suspect after multiple packages have been reported stolen from a Memorial Drive apartment complex on October 30.

Police say the suspect, caught on surveillance footage, was wearing a purple bathrobe and brightly colored footwear.

The individual is seen propping open the lobby door with a traffic cone, running into the lobby of the complex and leaving the area in what is believed to be a dark green hatchback. This suspect was not reported to police until November.

The department on Twitter said by using a data driven approach, “officers will be increasing their patrols in the locations and during the times in which a higher volume of thefts have been reported.”

As a reminder the department is advising people to wary of these kinds of thefts and take necessary steps toward preventing this from happening to them. In addition, anyone with information is asked to call the Cambridge Police at 617-349-3300.
