Cannabis Retailers Get Approval To Set Up Shop On The Cape

CAPE COD, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — Cape Cod residents looking to buy Cannabis products will soon have some new options.

Three additional cannabis retail shops have been approved on the Cape and a second store has been approved on Nantucket.

The Cape Cod Times reports the Massachusetts Cannabis Control Commission approved the retailers during a meeting on Thursday to be built in Provincetown, Eastham and Wellfleet.

Provincetown currently has two shops that offer cannabis products and there is one medical dispensary located in Mashpee. The first cannabis retail shop to open on the Cape was the Curaleaf store in Provincetown, which opened it's doors back in January of last year.

Several other entities have applied to sell cannabis on the lower and outer Cape areas -- as those operators await review by the commission.

All of the newly approved retailers on the Cape will have to pass final inspections before being allowed to open their doors to the public.
