CANTON, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — A musician from Canton is looking to fulfill her dreams of opening at the Hollywood Bowl through winning the 2022 "Opening Act" contest, with the next round set to close on Thursday.

27-year-old Liz Wadman told WBZ's Suzanne Sausville that she's been playing guitar since she was 13 years old, and that performing in front of a large audience like at Hollywood Bowl is her dream. She says her music's genre can be a blend of many depending on the circumstance.

"When I sit down at my computer and I produce music it's more like a Billie Eilish or Dua Lipa type vibe, but if I'm sitting down with my guitar it's more of a Taylor Swift kind of vibe," Wadman said.

The musician produces her own music from her apartment in Canton, where she lives with her husband and young daughter. Wadman is participating in Opening Act, which offers the chance for artists to compete to win the opportunity to perform the opening at Audacy's musical performance at the Hollywood Bowl, along with a $10,000 cash prize.

"If I won, I would probably smack myself in the face a couple of times and see if I'm dreaming, probably cry a little bit out of excitement, and would just prepare myself to play in front of thousands and thousands of people," Wadman said.

If she moves on to the next round ending on Thursday, Wadman would be among the top ten in the contest.
