NEEDHAM, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — High above the ground, secluded from blue light and the dizzying stressors of adult life, kids around Massachusetts play in Tony Pola's treehouses.
"I'm not sure why more people don't do it," he told WBZ NewsRadio's Matt Shearer.
Pola owns Cape Cod Treehouse.
The company builds elaborate treetop fortresses in backyards around the state.
Complete with multiple rooms, ziplines, climbing walls and whatever other amenities children can dream up, Pola said his creations let kids put down their electronics and explore the outdoors.
Pola says the first part of a good tree house is a strong tree. Then come the permits, the materials and the schematics.
For Pola, the process is part of the fun.
"It's probably on par with a Disney vacation," he said.
