Cape Cod Man Could Go To Jail For Hitting Golf Ball In Yellowstone

BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — A Massachusetts comedian and golfer may have taken a swing too many

Jake Adams, a comedian and golf enthusiast, toured the country with a mission to hit a golf ball in all 50 states during the month of April. The tour started out innocent.

"It was never my intent at all to hurt anybody on this trip, I was just trying to do a fun, cool thing," he said.

The tour was going well until Adams reached Wyoming's Yellowstone National Park.

After teeing off there, he received lots of hate online. "I just got a wild amount of messages, just saying I'm the worst person to ever walk this earth," he said.

To make matters worse, Federal prosecutors told Adams that an investigation is underway, and he could face jail time.

Adams said he used biodegradable golf balls on his tour, but that didn't seem to sway the federal government.

He said it's a cautionary tale for other golfers, who should stick to the green.
