Car Crashes Into Beverly CVS

BEVERLY, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — Beverly Police said the collision that destroyed the wall of a CVS pharmacy was a suicide attempt, and that the driver, a 24-year-old woman, has died.

The woman's car crashed deep into the Dodge Street CVS early Wednesday morning, plowing through the pharmacy's wall around 2 a.m.

Police said the woman, who was the only person in the vehicle, was suffering from self-inflicted injuries as well as those from the crash. She was pronounced dead at Beverly Hospital shortly after.

The crash left a massive hole in the side of the building, mangling shelves and leaving broken glass and debris covering the floor inside.

Only employees were inside the store at the time, and nobody else was injured.

Work crews managed to remove and tow away the vehicle around 5 a.m.
