WALPOLE, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — A car crashed into the historic Goss Thomas House on Sunday afternoon, causing damage to the yard and part of the house.
The red Subaru Forrester was seen with its hood damaged, partially rammed into the house’s porch.
The crash happened before 3 p.m.
Walpole firefighters and police were on the scene.
The only comment from Walpole Police and Fire Departments as of Sunday afternoon was that the crash is under investigation.
The cause of the crash and whether anyone was injured is still unclear.
WBZ NewsRadio’s Suzanne Sausville reported that she interviewed the couple that owned the house in September 2023, Christine and Bruce Cochrane, for a different story.
The Cochranes have been collecting thousands of antique items from the 20th century over the years, filling their historic home with pieces of the past.
The photo above shows the car rammed into the Walpole house on Sunday, and on the porch there are some old-fashioned signs advertising things like “Frosty Cold Dr. Pepper.”
This is a developing story. Last updated: 3:51 p.m., Sunday, April 7.
