SAUGUS, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — Police are investigating after a car crashed into the front of a restaurant in Saugus Saturday morning.
The crash happened shortly before 7:30 a.m. at Giovanni's Roast Beef and Pizza on Broadway.
The driver, a 57-year-old woman from Melrose, was the only person in the car. She declined any medical treatment after being evaluated at the scene.
No one was inside the restaurant at the time.
Police say that the woman did not seem to be impaired, so the crash was more likely caused by "human error or mechanical failure."
The incident is currently under investigation.
