Whittier Street Health COVID-19 Vaccine Clinic Remains Open After Car Crash

BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — The Whittier Street Health Center’s satellite clinic in Roxbury is still open for patient vaccinations, after a car crashed into the building early Tuesday morning.

The site is located on Blue Hill Avenue. The crash damaged the front windows and the outer façade of the building.

One woman was sent to the hospital with unknown injuries. Clean-up crews continued to clear away damage and debris on Tuesday morning while boarding up the impacted part of the building.

"Thank god nobody died," one clinic worker said. "We're still open...[the car did not hit] the part for the patients -- it's only one room."

The site typically distributes a minimum of 30 to 35 doses of the Covid-19 vaccine per day.

"Patients know that we are reliable and that we will be there despite an accident," Whittier Street Health CEO Frederica Williams said. "We're sending out the reminder calls, so patients who are scheduled can come on in -- we will be open."

The crash is currently under investigation.
