The packed hometown crowd cheered as NBA commissioner Adam Silver presented the team with the Larry O'Brien Championship Trophy. Jaylen Brown was named Finals Most Valuable Player.

The Celtics will celebrate their historic championship win later this week with a rolling rally parade through the streets of downtown Boston, Mayor Michelle Wu announced Tuesday.

The parade is scheduled for Friday at 11:00 a.m., beginning on Causeway Street in front of TD Garden, passing by City Hall Plaza and the Boston Common on Tremont Street, and ending on Boylston Street by the Hynes Convention Center.

City officials will share event details and preparations at a public safety press conference Tuesday afternoon.
