Celtics Fans Confident Ahead Of Game 5 Of The NBA Finals

BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — The Boston Celtics hope to close out the NBA Finals on Wednesday.

After jumping out to a three-game lead in the series, the Celtics got dominated in Game 4 against the Dallas Mavericks, losing 122 to 84. Despite the disappointing performance, fans are excited for the chance to win the championship here in Boston.

“We lost on purpose to come and win at home,” said another fan.

In addition to the homecourt advantage in Game 5, the Celtics also have history on their side. When the Celtics won the championship in 2008, the series-clinching game was also played on June 17. Boston’s area code is also 617.

Fans were not surprised that the Mavericks are not going down without a fight, but they are still confident the team can get it done on Monday night.

“Everybody has a bad day every now and again. [It’s] too bad it came on a game day, but I think tonight is going to be our night. The Celtics are going to bring it home,” said one fan.

“It’s the NBA Finals. You expect to get a little bit of pushback from the other team, but I think they’ll wrap it up at home tonight,” said another fan.

Game 5 tips off at TD Garden at 8:30 P.M. on Monday.
