Celtics Player To Coach In Online Basketball Camp

BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — Summer camps have been pushed to 2021 in Massachusetts, but there still options online. A Boston Celtics player is lacing up to coach basketball camp this summer, but this time it won't be on the court.

Kemba Walker, along with other NBA players, has been missing the tradition of summer basketball camp. Now, he's teaming up with two-time NBA champ and sports analyst Kenny 'The Jet' Smith to bring camp to the children virtually through 'The Jet Academy.'

"I created the first virtual sports academy," Smith said. "You can ask questions, you can upload videos, we answer your videos, it's a live experience working with today's greatest WNBA and NBA players."

The year-long camp is bi-weekly, online, as well as live and interactive. It includes fellow NBA players Trae Young and Victor Oladipo and WNBA's Breanna Stewart Brittney Griner.
