BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — The Celtics will host watch parties at TD Garden for the first two away games of the 2024 NBA Finals. This first of its kind event was coordinated in partnership with the City of Boston, Governor Maura Healey, Boston Police Commissoner Michael Cox, and Celtics and TD Garden leadership, according to a press release from the City of Boston.
“This is an exciting time in our city to gather together and cheer on the Celtics. The Celtics watch parties at the Garden will be a memorable and unique way for families and fans to catch the away games and show our community spirit,” said Mayor Michelle Wu in a statement.

WBZ NewsRadio spoke to Celtics owner Wyc Grousbeck, who is thrilled with the idea.
“Yeah, we’re excited, we want more people to come in and fill the Garden with that kind of energy, even when we’re on the road, [so] working with the city and with the TD Garden is a great idea and we’re glad to do it,” Grousbeck said.
Game 3 is scheduled for next Wednesday, June 12, and Game 4 is scheduled for next Friday, June 14. A tipoff is scheduled for 8:30 p.m. that evening with tickets going on sale for both games this Wednesday, with tickets costing $18 apiece.
