BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — Boston Celtics star Jaylen Brown will be sticking around for a few more years and a lot more money.
Per multiple reports, the Celtics have signed Brown to a five-year, $304 million supermax extension, the richest deal in NBA history.
Brown, 26, was the No. 3 pick in the 2016 NBA Draft. In his seven seasons with the Celtics, Brown became a two-time All-Star and helped his team reach four Eastern Conference Finals and the 2022 NBA Finals.
The extension is the latest in a series of big moves by the Celtics during the offseason. The team recently traded guard Marcus Smart to the Memphis Grizzlies in a three-team deal that brought former All-Star Kristaps Porzingis to Boston. Forward Grant Williams was also traded away to the Dallas Mavericks in a sign-and-trade deal that landed the Celtics three future second-round picks.
