SALEM, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — Beth Crowley has given or arranged tours around Salem for roughly 80,000 people since she founded Witch City Walking Tours ten years ago.

"But someone like Channing Tatum, this is our first," Crowley told WBZ NewsRadio Friday.

Crowley was contacted weeks ago to give a private tour to the "Magic Mike" star and his daughter Everly, who had learned about the Salem witch trials in school and wanted to see the historic town for herself.

"I was a little nervous at first, just ‘cause I didn’t know what to expect," Crowley said. "Was he gonna be, like, very standoffish, was he gonna be very demanding? It was within minutes I really felt like I was walking around with a friend."

The three-day tour, which happened last week, took Tatum, Everly, and the rest of their group all over Salem and nearby communities. They stopped at a local witchcraft shop, the Gallows Hill Museum and Theatre, the Witch Dungeon Museum, the Hawthorne Hotel, the Rebecca Nurse Homestead and Samuel Parris archeological site in Danvers, and the Peabody Essex Museum.

Crowley said the adventure gave the visitors just what they were looking for: some quality father-daughter time.

"We made sure that everything was catered to his 11-year-old daughter, and she couldn’t have been nicer or sweeter. They had such a great time," said Crowley.

WBZ's Kendall Buhl reports.
