Charlestown Residents Weigh In... What Makes A Good Neighbor?

CHARLESTOWN, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — Today is national ‘Do Something Nice For Your Neighbor’ Day.

According to the National Day Calendar, today is a day that encourages each of us to treat others how we would like to be treated and to do something nice for our neighbor.

While your neighbor can be someone who lives close to you, it can also be someone like a work friend.

Some Charlestown residents weighed in on what makes for a good neighbor after being asked do they know their neighbor, and do they like them. “Yes…. and yes,” one man answered. “They mind their own business and say ‘hi’ and ‘how you doing, have a good day’ things like that.”

This woman also said that she knows and really likes her neighbors. “They’re always looking out for us and bringing my trash in,” she said. “They look out for our home and are just all-around a good friend. And they feed my cat.”

On the flip side, people reflected on the things they do to be good neighbors. Among the responses, watching their neighbor’s home when they are away, and mowing their neighbor’s lawn.
