BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — Patriots defensive end Chase Winovich was the featured appearance at the Causeway Card Show on Sunday, but he was one among many looking for a special piece of sports memorabilia.
Unlike the other people there, Winovich was looking for his own football card.
"I gotta keep my value up in the card game as well... It doesn't even matter, if I'm in the discount bin, I'm going to buy them all up," said Winovich.
The card show took place at the Big Night Live nightclub in TD Garden, complete with a DJ and bartender.
Organizer Chris Costa said some big money could be exchanged at the event, with big ticket sports memorabilia like LeBron James rookie cards on the floor. "I'm sure by the end of it we'll have a couple of six-figure transactions take place," he said.
The card show is the first of what organizers hope to be many more sports card trade shows at the TD Garden.
Winovich has been into collecting cards since he was young.
"Growing up, I was huge into Pokemon and Yu-Gi-Oh...I lost a Charizard card when I was a kid... but hopefully I get something even better today," he said.
