Chemical Mixture At Amazon Facility Sends Three To Hospital

NASHUA, N.H. (WBZ NewsRadio) — Three workers at an Amazon distribution center in Nashua, N.H. on 5 State Street were transported to the hospital after exposure to a mixture of cleaning chemicals early Thursday morning.

The workers, a 44-year-old man, 34-year-old man, and 36-year-old woman, are said to have experienced "respiratory symptoms."

The Nashua fire department responded to the facility located on State Street around 4:30 a.m. for reports of a possible HAZMAT situation. Workers at the facility mixed a known chemical with an unknown chemical, fire officials confirmed to WBZ NewsRadio, resulting in a reaction.

Two of the workers exposed to the reaction have been released from Southern New Hampshire Medical Center, while one remains under observation.

Although one chemical responsible for making the workers sick was identified, the other substance has yet to be confirmed.
