Chester, N.H. Home Hit By Gunfire, Elderly Man Injured

CHESTER, N.H. (WBZ NewsRadio) — An elderly man was injured in a late Friday night shooting at his residence in Chester, New Hampshire, officials said.

The New Hampshire State Police said that the Chester Police Department officers arrived at the residence on Old Chester Turnpike for the report of a shooting. Arriving officers said that the house had been struck by gunfire, and that they discovered a 79-year-old man was suffering from a gunshot wound there.

Police said the victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment, where he remains in stable condition.

Following the incident, Troopers from the New Hampshire State Police took over the investigation, who said that there are no suspects at the time of posting, but that the investigation remains active. Investigators asked that nearby residents review any home surveillance footage they may have between the timeframe of 10:30 p.m. and 11:30 p.m.
