WAKEFIELD, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — Circle K gas stations are offering a special deal Thursday of 40 cents off a gallon.
The “Fuel Day” deal is available from 4 to 7 p.m. on Thursday only.
“Today is special because Circle K is offering a nationwide fuel day,” said Nancy Bonugli, general manager of the Circle K in Wakefield.
The deal was so popular last year that the gas station needed a police detail.
Bonugli said she doesn’t expect as many people this year because of the weather, but she’s still hoping for a crowd.
“This station in particular could use a huge boost,” Bonugli said.
The current average price for regular gas in Massachusetts is $3.019, down from last year’s average of $3.421.
For some people, the deal isn’t worth it if the station is packed.
“If I had to wait for 20 minutes to get up to the pump, it isn’t worth that …I wouldn’t bother,” said Evans, a local resident.
But others are definitely taking advantage.
“I think it’s really good,” said Nick, a Circle K customer.
